Now For A Fun And Informative Lolita Wardrobe Survey -- 2019

What has changed?

Due to the website re-design, a lot of my former posts have become discombobulated. I have been hard at work editing my past blog posts and came across this survey that I took back in early 2016. The silver lining with editing the posts is that I can see how much I have grown along with my journey. I wanted to re-take this survey to see how much my answers have changed. After all, 2016 was so long ago!

This survey was created by Evil Goth Bunny, if you or a friend would like to take the quiz too!

1. Do you still own the first lolita item that you bought?

Picture
Yes! The first true lolita item that I purchased was from Bodyline. The piece is a pink and white jumperskirt by the known name of Dress of Lattice Lace (L348). I love this dress! It is very reminiscent of the classic Sweet Lolita pieces that drew me to lolita fashion in the first place. This JSK is lovely!

2. What is the oldest lolita piece in your wardrobe?

My oldest lolita piece would be a handmade skirt that my mother made me. It's a simple, but pretty, skirt with embossed flowers and a very pretty piece. I want to start wearing lolita skirts more often!

3. What is the newest lolita piece in your wardrobe?

Picture
Picture
The latest lolita piece in my wardrobe would be my Welcome To My Dollhouse jumperskirt by Lady Sloth! I really love the classic shape of this sweet-style dress. The print features ball-jointed dolls. The dress is gorgeous! I am very happy that I purchased the dress and matching bonnet in lavender.

4. What is the cheapest main piece in your wardrobe?

Once again, that would be the handmade lolita skirt that my mother made me. I love the little details!

5. What is the most expensive piece in your wardrobe?

Picture
Move over, Melty Cream Doughnuts. The most expensive piece in my Crystal Guardians: Fairy Princess jumperskirt by Haenuli. As a magical girl fanatic, I had to get this dress! I own the jumperskirt, the matching head bow, and the headdress. This set is one of my favorites, hands down!

6. Which of your lolita items is your favorite?

Picture

This is so hard to pick! Ugh. It's a toss up between Welcome To My Dollhouse jumperskirt and my Crystal Guardians: Fairy Princess jumperskirt. Both of these items flatter my figure and the prints are lovely. If I had to choose, I would have to pick my Fairy Princess piece. There are not a lot of pieces that feature a magical girl theme. After all, I am a huge magical girl fan. This set fits my handle well!

7. Which item in your lolita wardrobe do you wear the most?

Picture
Hmm, this is also a toss-up. My most worn item is my Sweet Cherry Deer jumperskirt from Souffle Song. I just love the print details in this piece! The animals are super cute, and I love the classic style of this sweet-style lolita dress. This dress has a lot of colors, so it is one of my most versatile pieces.

8. Which item in your lolita wardrobe do you wear the least?

The handmade lolita skirt would be my least worn item. I still prefer full dresses over a skirt. This year, I really want to push some personal lolita boundaries and wear lolita skirts! I need to buy a few.

9. Is there anything in your wardrobe that you haven't worn?

No! I have worn each article in my wardrobe. If I didn't wear something, it would be sold quickly.

10. What is missing from your lolita wardrobe?

My lolita wardrobe lacks a few blouses and winter wear. Other than that, I have done a great job expanding my wardrobe. Also, there are some major dream dresses that need to be added to my closet! I love the dresses that I do have, but with this absence of those dresses, it feels incomplete.

11. When will your lolita wardrobe be complete?

This may sound rather ominous, but my lolita wardrobe will never be complete. After all, there are far too many wonderful pieces! As my lolita style changes and evolves, I will sell or trade older pieces for ones that fit my current style. Also, as I continue to live a healthy and active lifestyle, it is inevitable that my current lolita wardrobe will no longer fit! These pieces will need to be replaced.

12. What was the last lolita item you sold or threw away?

Picture
I recently sold my BB&B Deco pink beaded headband. It's a lovely hair accessory, but I did not have anything to match it. I did keep the matching necklace as it is a bit more flexible, stylistically speaking.

13. How many OPs do you have?

Currently, I do not have any one-piece dresses in my lolita wardrobe. I have been very tempted to purchase a few this year, such as the OP for Welcome To My Dollhouse. Unfortunately, the one-piece dresses that interest me are more expensive, or they do not allow for size versatility. I need it!

14. How many JSKs do you have?

I currently own six jumperskirts! I love each dress that I own. Each piece is completely unique! From the print to the cut, they stand alone. Jumperskirts are the most fun to coordinate, in my opinion.

15. How many skirts do you have?

There is only a single skirt in my lolita wardrobe. I would like to purchase and wear more skirts!

16. How many petticoats do you have?

I own three petticoats. One of the petticoats is a cupcake, while the other two are of an A-line style. I would like to purchase additional pieces from Me Like Tea soon. You can never have too many, right?

17. When you first started wearing lolita, what did you want your wardrobe to be like?

Originally, my ideas for a wardrobe were different. I originally imagined something similar to the inside of an Angelic Pretty store in the early 2000s. Big, bold prints and colors would demand to attention at once. Now, I find that I like the more classic Sweet Lolita pieces. My tastes have evolved from Angelic Pretty's Milky Planet to Angelic Pretty's Eternal Carnival. It's the same theme, but softer.

18. What would you like your lolita wardrobe to be in the future?

I would like to have more non-printed pieces in my collection. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love printed dresses. I do like how my Bodyline dress is more flexible though since it does not feature a print. Also, the details on these types of items are often overlooked but stunning! It would be nice to showcase all those amazing construction and features. A great way to start would be with skirts!

My ideal wardrobe would be a complete one. It would be nice to be able to have enough in my wardrobe to wear lolita as my main fashion style. This includes essentials, such as a winter coat!

Wow, my answers are so different from two years ago! What answers surprised you?

Stay Frilly,

I did not realize that you had so many Lolita dresses! What about a cape or capelet? Is that a Lolita thing?

Hello!

Thank you for your lovely comment ♡ I must confess that I love my dresses. This year, I want to focus on getting more wardrobe essentials. We will have to see how I do!

Yes, capes and capelets are used in lolita fashion. I find that a long cape is used for Gothic and Classic Lolita styles. A short cape, or a capelet, is usually the style for Sweet Lolita.

There are also lolita winter coats that have a removable capelet. I have seen that option for all three main styles of lolita fashion.

I hope this information helped to answer your question!
