Happy Birthday Mr. Yan, A Bodyline Lolita Fashion Order Review

​When I innocently stumbled upon Bodyline's website on September 3rd, I could scarcely believe my luck. Bodyline, in celebration of Mr. Yan's birthday, was having a sale of 50% off everything. I have had my eye on a few items, so this sale was the perfect excuse!

​I scanned the website for the that products I wanted most. I submitted my order on September 3 and, despite the EMS shipping speed, the order did experience a one-week delay before the items were shipped. The delay was expressed on Bodyline so customers could prepare accordingly.

This particular Bodyline order consisted of:

✓ One Pair of Shoes
✓ One Wig
✓ Two pairs of wrist cuffs

All the items were shipped together on September 16th, 2016. Since I chose EMS shipping, once my order was processed my parcel took only four days to get from Tokyo, Japan to my home in Maine.

I was able to retrieve my package from the post office on September 21, 2016. My package was packaged very well inside a waterproof EMS shipping bag. The information of the parcel contained, and my address was sealed on top. I was relieved because, on the Bodyline website, my address was printed backward on my order statement. Thankfully everything was correct on my parcel!

Inside the outer bag, I was pleased to discover my items had been carefully wrapped in their own protective bags. My pink wrist cuffs were first among my items, which were easily visible in their own Bodyline accessory bag. My second pair of wrist cuffs were next in their own accessory bag as well. Underneath my wrist cuffs, I found my long twin tail wig, and then finally, inside a fabled Bodyline box, lay my lovely shoes! Let's get started on the review, beginning at the head to the feet!

Bodyline Wig

I have wanted a long twin tail wig for quite some time. Finally, after months of pining, I ordered one. I had purchased a simple shoulder-length wig from Bodyline before and was impressed with the quality, particularly for the price. I found ​exactly what I was looking for in wig w088! I ordered this wig in the number one, light brown color. I purchase this selection based on availability. The color of the wig reminds me of a dark blonde or a commonly referenced "milk-tea" shade.

My wig was wrapped around supportive cardboard ring within a sealed plastic bag. The wig was contained in black netting to keep all the hair fibers organized in transport. Once I removed the wig from the bag, I could tell the pigtail clips had been detached and carefully wrapped within the main base of the wig. The base and each pigtail had their own separate netting for safely and convenience.

This particular wig is extremely soft. The pigtails are a perfect length and range from slightly past my bust or longer depending on where I put the pigtail clips. The curls are lovely and easy enough to maintain. The wig has excellent construction and allows for a wide range of head sizes. The bangs on this wig do need to be shaped, but parting them to the side is an easy temporary solution.

The base wig is thinner on the crown than I would prefer, but it is not so thin you can see your original hair underneath. The wig base would look completely fine worn on its own. The slight thinness of the wig is especially well hidden with a hair accessory and the attached pigtails.

Final Thoughts

I am extremely pleased with this wig! Not only is it full and soft, but it is a great length and an inexpensive alternative to other more expensive wig stores. I do wish color chart for available colors was more of a reference to make the color choice easier, but aside from that, I have no complaints. Additionally, the fact that I saved over $17 USD on this item alone due to the sale was a fantastic bonus! I cannot wait to wear it.

Wrist Cuffs

Does bodyline sell wrist cuffs? Why, yes they do! Admitting I did not know they existed either and they were particularly difficult to locate on the former Bodyline website. Thankfully I stumbled upon a review conducted by CrackedTeaCup on Youtube of a recent purchase from Bodyline and introduced myself and others to Bodyline wrist cuffs. I was so impressed with her comments and review that I wished to get a pair myself. Between the sale and just the typical Bodyline affordability I had not excuse not to add them to my order. I placed an order for two pairs of wrist cuffs​ acc1031. One in white, one in pink.

Both pairs of wrist cuffs came in their own separate Bodyline accessory bags. The stock photos, particularly when it comes to the pink wrist cuff set, do not give these beauties justice!

The lace on these wrist cuffs is sturdy with a lovely rose and pearl pattern. While the lace is not soft, it is not coarse. Admittedly the lace could be softer. It feels as if the lace will hold up well over a long length of time. The grosgrain ribbons are attached to the wrist cuff base securely. The pearl beads on the ribbons are a sturdy attached as well and add a wonderfully delicate touch to the design.

​When worn the wrist cuffs are fantastic! The elastic is easy to adjust so it can fit a variety of sizes. The wrist cuffs are long and large enough to compliment my elongated fingers.

Final Thoughts

The wrist cuffs are extremely pretty with their rose lace and pearl details. Both pairs are well constructed for long term use and will be used frequently. At only $5 USD a piece due to the sale, I am ecstatically happy!

Shoes

I have had my eye on these shoes s530 for a while. I am particularly fond of the brown, pink and blue colorways. Since I wanted to place an order for my other three items, an addition of a pair of shoes was an absolute must! I needed a pair of brown shoes as a staple to my wardrobe and, due to availability, it seemed like the perfect time to finally bring these adorable additions home at long last!

My shoes arrived in the fabled Bodyline box. This is the second time I have purchased Bodyline shoes, and like the first order, I have received a shoe box. The shoes did originally come with stuffing and poles to help them contain their original shape. I removed them for the photo shoot.My shoes arrived in the fabled Bodyline box. The details on these shoes are positively adorable. The brown color of these shoes remind me of a rich chocolate, while the ivory stitching and lace resembles icing. They are too sweet for words!

Both shoes feature side snaps that allow you to adorn your shoe with ease. Due to a previous review, I had ordered my original Bodyline shoes a 0.5 size higher than my shoe size and I am glad that I did! Like my other Bodyline shoes, the heel height makes these shoes extremely comfortable.

Final Thoughts

Each part of the shoe, from the bows to the sole, are very well constructed and sturdy. The tones are even, and the design is positively charming! I could not have ordered a more perfect set of heels. At the unbelievable rate of $20 USD they were a great buy. I'd love another set in a different color.
