A New Doll Has Arrived!

I recently cleaned out my closet of unwanted collectibles. To my astonishment, I was able to purchase my third Obitsu doll! After some careful consideration, I decided to shell one of my darker characters, Lilith. After I settled on the 45 cm size, I made my way online to complete my purchase!

**Warning: This post will contain artistic appreciation of the doll's form aka doll nudity.

Completing the Purchase

Picture
As I have done in the past, I ordered my doll from Parabox, Japan. While there are US suppliers that sell Obitsu dolls, I find that Parabox items arrive quickly. Additionally, Parabox has a wide array of products to choose from. Whatever you may need for your Obitsu doll, Parabox has everything!

Purchased Items:

I ordered three items before I completed my order. With my other doll purchases, I enjoy making doll characters from scratch. While Parabox offers full set dolls, I like that they offer blank dolls, too.

Item Titles:

✓ 45 cm Parabox Original Female Body
(Includes Base)
✓ Megu Head for the 40/45 cm Body
✓ Neck Piece for 40 cm - 60 cm Body

In addition to my purchase, I sent a message to the Parabox staff to request a service. The updated neck piece of the 1/4 scale and 1/3 dolls is rather difficult to attach. I now always request the staff to attach my desired head to the peg for me. This time, the service was completely complimentary!

Not only does Parabox have virtually everything you may need for your Obitsu doll, I find that Parabox is less expensive than if I order from a US doll re-seller. With Parabox, the more you buy the more you save. The shipping from Parabox to my doorstep is also faster than my experience with US sellers. Even with the additional service request, my items shipped quickly! I was very impressed.

Arrival

After only six days after I placed my order, my completed order arrived from overseas! In addition to their speedy arrival, all of my items were packaged safely. It is always reassuring that my doll is safe.

Let's see what's inside!

Picture
And there she is! I was surprised to see that instead of a cardboard box, the box my new girl arrived in was constructed of clear plastic. The clear plastic box is an aspect that I have admired how Smart Dolls are shipped. It was nice to see that some of the Obitsu dolls share this particular display as well. I enjoy that the box is much sturdier than the cardboard box I have for my other Obitsu doll.
Picture
A wrapped layer of bubble wrap and individualized plastic sleeves secured the doll. The doll base was separate within the box. I am always astonished by how beautiful the Obitsu doll body sculpts are. Like Hitomi, Lilith has lovely realistic body details upon her form. I need to stop making such modestly dressed characters. After all, it would be great to showcase their lovely bodies!
Picture
These details have been minimized when compared to my 50 cm Obitsu doll. While my 50 cm doll appears to be a young adult, this doll looks like a younger rendition. I wanted Lilith to have less of a mature look to her than Hitomi, so this aspect is perfect. Lilith looks like a younger sister.

For the front of the doll's form, I am especially fond of the collarbone, the muscles of the arm and abdomen. These features help to make the doll resemble a human and are, well, stunning.
Picture
Additionally, I am in love with this doll's legs and hands. I find that I am picky with the hands and legs of my dolls. These aspects never disappoint with an Obitsu doll. The hands appear to be delicate, are posed in realistic positions and feature lovely palmar flexion creases and fingernails.
Picture
Like my other Obitsu doll, the thighs on this body are realistic and curvy. Each leg is pleasing, sturdy and functional. I can put this doll in many positions and poses and she stands firm
Picture
The pretty feet also have magnets that can be used with the magnetic base. As Obitsu dolls are customizable, the screw can be removed so that you can attach an more style of feet
Picture
The photo above is the most accurate color representation in my opinion. The white backdrop in the other shots helps you to see all the doll's details. I adore the white skin tone option that Obitsu offers. I believe that this skin tone shade will be the most dramatic when it comes to Lilith's future face up!

Communication:

10 / 10
Parabox has fantastic communication! After I placed my order, I sent an email to the staff to make a request. The new neck piece for the standard size of Obitsu dolls are quite finicky. Parabox used to offer an attachment service for the modest fee of $3. I was unable to locate this option on their website, so I just completed my purchase. With a quick email request, the staff responded to let me know that they would be happy to attach the doll's head to the peg free of charge! When my doll did arrive, the neck peg has been attached to her head (as you can see when unboxed) as promised.

Shipping:

10 / 10
The shipping from Parabox, Japan was extremely fast! My new doll was sent via EMS shipping. After only six days, my doll had arrived at my doorstep. She was expertly wrapped and secure upon arrival. EMS is the only shipping option on Parabox, but for a full doll, I did not mind the price at all.

Quality:

10 / 10
A perfect score! I adore Obitsu dolls. The vinyl is well crafted. The effect creates a sculpted form. Even though these dolls are inexpensive in comparison to dolls with a similar aesthetic, the materials used to construct them is of high-quality. There is also a huge range of motion to the doll as well, and her design allows for many posing options. There is very little that this doll cannot do!

I hope that you found this review helpful! Do you collect vinyl dolls? What are your favorite BJD or similar aesthetic dolls and brands? I would love to read your comments!
