A new indie brand is here!

Cream and Sugar Lolita is a Canadian project to keep a local dance company afloat. The brand began with amazing petticoat and comfy bloomers and, because the project was so successful, they have added cutsews and they are just getting started! Here is my review of their cutsews and petticoat.
Don't miss my unboxing and review on YouTube, too!

This release was too tempting not to do! At the time, Cream and Sugar offered three colors: black, pink, and white. They now offer sax and raspberry red, too! Since I have a lot of pink and white in my wardrobe, I ordered one of each in the 2XL size. I was a bit nervous about the size (my bust is 120 or 121 cm depending on my bra and the shirt is listed for 128 cm), but Holly was extremely helpful!

My items arrived in a pink plastic envelope and each was individually wrapped. The presentation was great! The order came with a signed note of thanks from the staff, which was a nice touch.

The cutsew in-person match the stock and promotional images perfectly! I wasn't sure how the 2XL size would differ from the smaller ones used, but it looks the same just more plus-size friendly.

The warm pink looks super cute with many of my pieces including Magic Princess, My Sweet Mate Kumya's BABY Anniversary print, and Melty Cream Doughnut! I am very happy with the color.

The mesh ruffle is so cute! Since it is mesh, I don't have to worry about needing to iron it, unlike lace, whew. The mesh is very soft and well constructed. A darling satin bow sits at the center of the shirt.

We have the soft mesh once again to form a cap-sleeve. This sleeve is very cute and stays poofy when worn! My favorite thing about the sleeves is that there is elastic at the base! This feature accommodates different arm sizes, which is something I usually have trouble with being plus-sized.

At the bottom of the cutsew is a row of mesh ruffles. This little detail compliments the rest of the top! Tucked or untucked, this shirt looks cute with a coordinate styled either way! I love the versatility.

The dress form I own is a US size 6, but even so, you can see the overall design of the cutsew. On me, the cutsew falls perfectly. I didn't want something form-fitting for a casual top, so this is perfect!
Picture
Everything about this cutsew is super comfortable! The cutsew is lightweight and cozy, thanks to the Jersey material. While I have wanted a cutsew for some time, it has been a challenge to find one in my size. I was about to order one from Maxicimam, but Cream and Sugar's release came just in time!

If I ever do a 24 hour lolita challenge, I will be wearing this cutsew to do it!

The design of this cutsew is adorable! There is a great range of sizing for this piece and it is super comfortable, too. With great construction, this top is going to be a staple in my wardrobe for a while. Also, can we talk about how versatile this top is? I've worn it with a dress and skirts already!

Cupcake Cutsew (White)

Here is the white version of the cutsew! The only difference between the stock image and my item is that the small bow is in this color top, too! Of course, I knew about this little detail beforehand ;)

My favorite detail about the white version of this cutsew is that the sleeves have a tiny heart pattern on the mesh! Just like the pink cutsew, the overall design is precious. The mesh is just as lovely as the pink one. The added detail of the small hearts on the sleeve is too cute and perfect for Sweet Lolita!

As with the pink version of this cutsew, the cap sleeves are poofy and very accommodating! The elastic at the end of the sleeve is perfect for larger upper arms. These sleeves do not pinch at all!

At the bottom, the row of ruffles also has the little white hearts! Again, this detail just adds to the overall cuteness. The ruffle looks especially good when worn over an item because the hearts pop!

The size of this cutsew is perfect. While not at the maximum measurements personally, the fit is relaxed, falls correctly, and is very comfortable. With so many sizes, it's a very accommodating top!

This cutsew is very well made. I haven't found a plus-size cutsew under $90 until now and I can't say enough good things about it. The construction is fantastic, the jersey material and heart mesh are very comfortable. The elastic on the sleeve is perfect for larger upper arms, which is a huge bonus!

Whipped Cream Petticoat (Short)

I pre-ordered my Whipped Cream Petticoat at Cream and Sugar Lolita's Etsy shop before it was shutdown. My item arrive a little over a month later from Canada, which was pretty amazing!
The petticoat arrived in a sturdy cardboard box. Just like with my cutsews, there was a lovely thank you note. Even when I unboxed it, I could tell that this was going to be a great fit for my wardrobe!

Lovely Lor's Cream and Sugar Lolita video not only got me passionate about this project, but I was sold when I saw how poofy the petticoat was. Many of my brand pieces, like my Angelic Pretty dresses and Baby skirts, are short. I often have to wear an underskirt with my petticoat. I wanted a petticoat that was short enough to work, like my Tulu Lolita petticoat, but also be extremely poofy.

The petticoat matches the stock image! The tulle is very soft and shiny and the volume is undeniable.
Picture
At the top of the petticoat, there is a soft band. Unlike other petticoats I own, the tie used is a cord. While a ribbon as a tie is lovely, I find it stretches out over time. This braided cord stays tied longer!
Picture
Under the tulle is a layer of netting. The petticoat is lined, so you don't need to worry about it rubbing against you. The tulle is very soft but sturdy. With proper storage, I can see this petti lasting a while!
Picture
As a plus-sized Lolita, often petticoats that are considered to have a lot of volumes look less full on me. This is not the case with the petticoat! The poof is so large that it kept moving my backdrop! You can see the shape even better in the mirror to the left of this image. It's the perfect cupcake shape!
Picture
If you are looking for a full petticoat, I highly recommend this one! I usually put a tulle petticoat over my hoop one to get extra volume, but this petticoat can do it on its own! Just a note: this petticoat is so full that you won't be able to wear the cutsew over it, haha! Unless you have a long torso ;)

10 / 10
This petticoat is HUGE! The short length is perfect for my shorter brand pieces. The materials used and the construction of this piece are first-rate. Even when I wear this petticoat for an extended time, the band doesn't slip and the cord keeps my petticoat where I want it. I've owned many petticoats, but this is by far the best. You can enjoy a true cupcake shape, despite your size!

Communication

10 / 10
Cream and Sugar Lolita staff responded quickly and kindly to my questions regarding my items and order! I was given updates about my order often. I was able to get measurements for the cutsews and connect about the fit. I really appreciate that the staff was so friendly and understanding!

Ordering / Shipping

10 / 10
Etsy was extremely easy to order my petticoat from. The Shopify account was just as simple to order from! I was lucky to get the cutsews when I did.

Both of my orders shipped quickly, even the pre-ordered petticoat! Each item was wrapped carefully and was perfectly protected from the elements.

Quality

All three items I ordered were extremely well made! The design of the petticoat and cutsews are both functional and adorable. For tops, these cutsews are super soft and flattering. I love the mesh details especially.

The petticoat has a lot of volume and the optional short version is perfect for brand pieces. The band and cord allows for easy adjusting and the petticoat stays put. No matter what your size, this petticoat is nice and full!

I highly recommend this new Canadian company! I look forward to buying more of their designs.

Thanks for reading!

Stay Frilly,
