*Review* Sweetie Cakepop Lolita Dress Set by Ruby Princess

Ruby Princess, a new American indie lolita brand, released their first series! Sweetie Cakepop features so many sweets and pastels that a Sweet Lolita couldn't help but love. I'm very excited to share my thoughts on the release with you in this post and on my lolita YouTube channel!

Not only is the art for this release too cute to miss, but the pieces are also plus-size friendly! My purchase added a cute dress to my wardrobe, but it also helped support a small team and reward a company that is Eco-conscious. I was excited that Ruby Princess teamed with Onegaishi Shop, too!

I placed my order on the release day. Onegaishi Shop sent my items the next day and everything arrived on October 1st.! Honestly, I couldn't think of a better way to start my birthday month!

Sweetie Cakepop Rabbit Ear Katyusha

This headbow is so cute! You don't need to worry about your ears sliding off the base because the wires at the base are very secure. Since there is wire inside of the ears, you can easily bend them to whichever position you like! The headbow is a great size because it gives me the option to wear this hair accessory alone or pair it with additional hair accessories. Every piece of this headbow has been expertly crafted. The headband is super comfortable to wear for long periods, too!

The overall design of this headbow is fantastic! I love the adorable print and fluffy bunny ears. Each ear is attached well and the ability to pose the ears is a wonderful bonus! There isn't a stitch out of place. The hair accessory is cute with the matching dress or with other solid lolita pieces!

Sweetie Cakepop Apron JSK Set + Socks

The design of this dress is beyond adorable! This dress set includes one jumperskirt dress, a detachable embroidered apron, a detachable top ribbon, and a detachable waist ribbon.

The stock images posted by Onegaishi shop for this piece are a 100% match to the dress I received! I absolutely love the design of this dress. The apron ties the top of the piece perfectly but looks just as cute without the apron. Since the bows and apron are optional, you have many ways to coord them!

This is the first piece I own that is made from Bamboo Tencel. The material is very soft to the touch and is extremely comfortable to wear. The texture of the fabric adds a bit more to the print, too.

As you can see, the collar bow is super easy to remove or wear. The stitching on the bib piece alone is excellent! Each ruffle is perfect, and the pleats, lace, and wavy ribbon are secure as well.

On the bodice, there are lovely lace and brass heart buttons. The apron is attached to the dress via a pearl button. This makes it a breeze to attach and detach the apron as desired and so it stays in place.

Since the back of the dress features partial shirring it can accommodate a wide range of sizes.

For those of us who need adjustable straps, Ruby Princess delivered! I love to adjust my straps so the bodice falls as naturally as possible. The adjustment is super easy and the buttons are very secure.

When getting into the dress, I noticed that there wasn't a clasp at the top of the zipper. While this is an optional aspect, it does help to get a garment on as it brings together the two sides of a dress together before you zip. I struggled with the zipper when the dress was on, but my wife helped me.

I cannot get over how vibrant this print is! Each aspect of this art is beyond precious. There are rainbows, ribbons, cotton candy, marshmallow bunnies, pixie sticks, cake pops, and tons of frosting!

Ruby Princess shared a post back in April with closer views of the original fabric, which included glitter. I received an updated swatch with the different colorways and it looks like the glitter didn't make it into the soft release. The dress is still absolutely stunning without it, though!

At the bottom of the dress is some of the cutest lace I've ever seen! From head to toe, this dress perfectly encapsulates what I love about Sweet Lolita. I cannot wait to wear it to events in the future!

As I tried to tie my waist ties, I found it was a real challenge. My wife was able to tie them, but the straps are short. Thankfully, the ties are optional! Other plus-size cuties may want to remove them.

The matching socks are SUPER stretchy and plus-size friendly! I wore them all day and they stayed in place. The elastic was very comfortable. It was the perfect balance of comfort and support.

Onegaishi Shop and Ruby Princess posted the release date on social media, and again when the items were available. There was no way I could miss it! Onegaishi's website is very easy to use. I simply added the items to my cart and checkout. My items qualified for free shipping and everything shipped the very next day! Everything came in a secure package and very quickly.

This dress gets a perfect score! The design and construction are unbelievable. Not only is the bamboo fabric soft to the touch, but it is very comfortable to wear. I love that the bows and aprons are removable for multiple coordinate options. I plan to wear the apron with other pieces in the future, too! I am thrilled with the fit, even at the maximum waist measurements. While a zipper clasp and longer waist ties would be considerations for future releases, these are minor.

Final Thoughts

Ruby Princess' brand core beliefs include being an Eco-friendly brand with high-quality construction and I can honestly say they met them. I personally love every design that is shared on their social media and can't wait to get the next release! I have my eye on you, Spooky Cat-o-Lantern~
