We started our Lolita meet at CIA cafe. CIA has multiple locations throughout Southern Maine. The cafe features a menu of tasty treats, irresistible sandwiches, and delectable beverages. This particular location was conveniently located next to the numerous shops that we wanted to browse. The staff at the cafe were extremely friendly at this location! We purchased some delicious desserts for lunch and the enthusiastic woman behind the counter, possibly the owner treated us to some complimentary drinks! It was a lot of fun to receive such a positive and spirited reaction. Shanisa and I were even featured on CIA's Facebook page! Not only were the staff fantastic, but CIA's iced tea, iced coffee, and their gluten-free cookie with jam was nothing short of delicious! I just love sweets. Our first destination on our shopping trip was Heart's Desire. Shanisa recommend this shop as one of our stops, and I can easily see why! This Saco consignment shop has hundreds of clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes, and bags to choose from! It was very easy to spend most of my shopping allowance at this particular shop. I purchased a few bracelets, necklaces, earrings, brooches and hair pieces to add to my Lolita collection, This is definitely a shop I will have to visit on a continual basis. My favorite items from this shop would have to be the two heart bracelets. The golden one features a heart with metal work that resembles lace, while the other is constructed of a silver metal and features smooth and textured heart gems. Both bracelets are flexible, which is just fantastic! Next, we visited Dreaming Tree Vintage. This shop had some very interesting vintage pieces. There were a lot of items, such as hats, coats, and bags that fit in very well with the Lolita fashion style. My favorite purchases from this location would have to be the intricate brooches. I am especially fond of the golden rose, and the silver rose with the pink gem. All of the items I purchased will make great additions to my current and future wardrobe! The photo does not do any of my purchases justice! We stumbled across a beautiful cemetery after we purchased a few cold drinks. The sun, which had been absent for most of the day, gave us about twenty minutes of sun. We took advantage of this small miracle and took a few photos. The scenery was so lovely, that we made plans to host a Halloween photo shoot at this location in a few weeks. Next time, I have to bring my lovely camera! It has been so much fun to have a live community once again! I love the excuse to meet with other Lolitas in person to discuss our favorite brands, recent purchases and plan future Lolita meet-ups. Have you had any particular fun meet-ups lately? I would love to about your experiences!
