On January 31, 2018, Baby, the Stars Shine Bright announced that, after three and a half years, they will close their New York, New York location in March 2018. To say that this news from one of the most famous Japanese name brands in Lolita fashion is a shock to me would be an understatement.
Forbidden Kingdom Seamstry is a costume shop located in Flagstaff, Arizona. The owner, Miss Momo, has over ten years of sewing and art experience. Her recent release Mermaid Dream Parfum is her first Lolita series. When I stumbled across the release announcement in December, I just had to add one of these pieces to my Lolita wardrobe! I could not pass up this pre-order opportunity.
It's true; every Lolita needs a Lolita fashion wish list. In the past, I have made albums on Facebook, Pinterest and Lolibrary. Since I have made a wish list on my website, it will be more convenient for me to add the items I am searching for and removed the items that I have acquired. Not only that, but it is nice to have everything in the same place. The items have been added in no particular order.
If you are selling any of the items on my wishlist, or if you come across these items in your travels, please contact me! I would love the opportunity to purchase these particular items and accessories.
International Lolita Day is a special day for the members of our Lolita fashion community. It is a day in which we celebrate this expressive and stunning Japanese fashion. Many Lolitas find this day as a great excuse to wear special coordinates, partake in Lolita friendly activities, or attend Lolita fashion meet-ups. Many times these meet-ups are held in a particularly special place and/or have a theme.
Instead of just one day to officially enjoy Lolita fashion, we have two days a year! International Lolita Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of June and again on the first Saturday of December. Not only do we have two excuses a year to dress our best, but we have two seasons to do so as well! This way, most of the world can participate in a Lolita holiday in a Summer and in the Winter season.
You should enjoy Lolita in whatever way you would like or what is realistic for you. I myself have had a wide range of ways to commemorate this day. On days that I have had to work in the past, I have watched Kamikaze Girls or have purchased from an online Lolita shop. Other times, I have been able to participate in picturesque photos shoots, picnics on a grassy knoll, and high tea events! International Lolita Day is simply an excuse to enjoy the fashion you love and know that there are hundreds of other Lolitas who are celebrating with you in spirit. Feel free to just enjoy the day!
How will you celebrate this International Lolita Day? I would love to know your answers!
