MAXICIMAM is one of my favorite Japanese brands. As a plus size Lolita, one of the reasons why I love this brand is simply due to the fact that they offer a clothing line for larger Lolita sized clothes. I have purchased a few of their products in the past, and I was very impressed with the quality and construction of each piece.
When Maxicimam announced that their new Jumperskirt print release that would feature their cute bear Coty-chan and be released to the Lovely Size line, I just had to purchase the new dress release for myself! I made a video in order to showcase this purchase! The video allows you to see additional aspects of the dress.
In order to purchase from Maxicimam for international orders, you have to use a shopping service or a third party website marketplace such as cdJapan or rakuten. For this order, I utalized cdJapan. The Chocolate Coty-chan Sweets Wonderland dress was released on cdJapan on February 7th, 2017. I purchased the dress on February 9th, 2017. The dress was offered in multiple colors, but I adored the sax blue colorway.
The dress is an exact likeness to the stock image pictured above. The print on the dress is extremely clear, brilliant and features a charming teddy bear Coty-chan mascot and a multitude of delectable sweet treats!
Length: 92 cm
Bust: 110-130 cm
Waist: 96-120 cm
With these measurements and great construction, Maxicimam truly is a fantastic option for any Lolita, particularly for a plus size Lolita! I am extremely happy with this recent purchase. Not only does it look fantastic, but it is an extremely comfortable fit. The shirring in the shoulder straps and back allow for a wide range of sizes. There is also some flexibility with the detachable waist ties to allow for additional sizes.
The goodies in this print include balloons, rainbows, candies, frosting, gingerbread houses, doughnuts, cupcakes, stars, ice cream cones, cookies, bears, ribbons, strawberries, sprinkles, macrons and bows! I cannot get over how entirely precious this print is! Each tiny illustration is an added dose of sweetness.
The bow is detachable, which is awesome! I love the flexibility of the bow. The ribbon features a printed bow and soft chiffon. I think the fact that the print is represented on the back part of the ribbon is too adorable! Originally I did not like the pom poms that run along the bottom of the chiffon bow, but now I believe it is a really sweet addition. The pom poms tie in nicely with the theme and also exist along the hem of the dress.
Just as my other Maxicimam pieces, this dress is extremely well constructed. The stitching is even and extremely well done. All of the material used for the dress are high quality. The chiffon and the cotton lace is especially soft and sturdy! The satin polyester fabric is very sturdy, but the material is not as soft as I was expecting, particularly for the cost of the dress. Thankfully the fabric allows to print to really stand out!

I am a bit uncertain why my item took so long to arrive since it was new. Since the item was back ordered, I had to wait additional days until it was shipped. Thankfully, when my item did ship, it arrived within two days!

I am in love with this dress. The majority of the materials used to create the dress are of excellent quality, and the aspects of the dress have been assembled in an expert manner. The only complaints I have involve the overall feel of the satin and the side zipper. The zipper is the type that is too small to work properly, so I am forced to put the dress on over my head rather than to struggle with it. The satin, while sturdy, is not as soft as I would like. Additionally, as you are able to see in the photos, there are woven lines in the fabric. Thankfully these lines are not noticed when the dress is worn. A light chiffon might have been a better choice.

cdJapan's communication was excellent as usual! I knew the moment my order was confirmed and the moment my items were shipped. cdJapan made it easy to track my order from Japan to my doorstep.
