As you continue with your lolita fashion journey, you will come across new terms used in the fashion. This list of terms should help you locate, buy, sell and collect all your favorite lolita fashion items.
As the year 2018 comes to a close, I cannot help but be very optimistic! After all, it has been one incredible year! Before I make my goals for 2019, I want to cover the lolita highlights for 2018.
Sweet Dolly House
Sweet Dolly House is an adorable accessory shop located on Etsy. Valeria Natsui creates unique sugary sweet jewelry that is a perfect fit for Sweet Lolita, Decora, and Fairy Kei. I have been a fan for years, and I am very happy that I made this purchase. I am excited to share these items with you!
I really love lolita fashion, but...
Lolita fashion is extravagant, especially when compared to mainstream everyday fashion. The energy it takes to physically get dress in this alternative fashion can be a lot. By the time you have finished getting dressed, you still need accessories, often a wig, and jewelry to complete the lovely look.
Here are my tips on how to wear and enjoy lolita fashion despite your chronic illness.
What is International Lolita Day?
International Lolita Day is a special day for the members of our Lolita fashion community. It is a day in which we celebrate this expressive and stunning Japanese fashion. Many Lolitas find this day as a great excuse to wear special coordinates, partake in Lolita friendly activities, or attend Lolita fashion meet-ups. Many times these meet-ups are held in a particularly special place and/or have a theme.
When is International Lolita Day?
Instead of just one day to officially enjoy Lolita fashion, we have two days a year! International Lolita Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of June and again on the first Saturday of December. Not only do we have two excuses a year to dress our best, but we have two seasons to do so as well! This way, most of the world can participate in a Lolita holiday in a summer and in the winter season.
Is there a proper way to celebrate?
You should enjoy Lolita in whatever way you would like or what is realistic for you. I myself have had a wide range of ways to commemorate this day. On days that I have had to work in the past, I have watched Kamikaze Girls or have purchased from an online Lolita shop. Other times, I have been able to participate in picturesque photos shoots, picnics on a grassy knoll, and high tea events! International Lolita Day is simply an excuse to enjoy the fashion you love and know that there are hundreds of other Lolitas who are celebrating with you in spirit. Feel free to just enjoy the day!
How will you celebrate this International Lolita Day? I would love to know your answers!
