Angelic Pretty’s Dolly Cat Re-Release

Yes, my friends, the rumors were true. Finally, Angelic Pretty plans to re-release their popular series, Dolly Cat. This charming print features elegant cats in artistic perfection. After waiting for a decade, I cannot wait to own it. My fingers are perpetually crossed that it is made-to-order!

So, Why Dolly Cat?

The Print

I love cats, and these darling cat sisters, Carole, Anna, Dorthee, and Tiffany, have some serious style! In addition to being a precious print, there are many fun details for coordinate inspiration. You’ll find ribbons and bows, gems, pearls, makeup, pillows, gifts, perfume, nail polish, roses, polka dots and more! Just imagine it; the gems would be a perfect theme for a Hime coordinate, complete with a tiara or veil and elegant gloves. Or for a Disney-bound Marie look, pink and white accessories, including a hair accessory with cat ears and a choker to resemble a collar, would be a look the Little Lady would be proud of! Each colorway features pastel pink, blue, lavender, white, and gold.

The Dresses

Dolly Cat features two dress designs in this release: a one-piece and a jumper skirt. Both dresses are an excellent balance of elegance and sweetness. The repeating themes of gems, makeup, gifts, ribbons, and, of course, cats complement the intricate border print! The perfectly placed bows add an extra touch of sweetness to the design. A removable brand brooch is featured on either of the dress designs. This release features four colorways to choose from, including lavender, pink, black, and the previous Special Set color ivory.

The One-Piece

This dress is truly a romantic design. It begins with a high collar made from sheer polyester with printed florals. Unlike the jumper skirt, the one-piece features a large, solid bow below the collar with pearl accents and a branded brooch, which can be removed. The sleeves match the material of the collar and feature satin ribbon and bows, followed by a row of lace. There are smaller satin bows along the bodice, framed by matching lace and pearl buttons.

The waist features a printed bow with pearl accents. While the border print is the focus, the framed artwork on the bodice and upper section of the skirt complements the artwork beautifully! Finally, two printed optional waist ties create a lovely back bow.

The Jumperskirt

I adore this dress. The piece begins with two beautiful, printed shoulder straps and stitched pink pearl beads. There are three solid bows across the bodice. The center bow features a branded brooch and pearl beads. Lace is layered across the top of the bodice, along with two satin bows. The waist bow is a solid ribbon, complete with four pink pearl beads. From here, the dress is indistinguishable from the one-piece. Unlike the bows at the front, the removable waist ties are printed with the design. Additionally, the jumperskirt features partial shirring and laces for increased size versatility. My hope is that the design can be easily altered due to this feature, too.

The Headbow

It isn’t often when the matching headbow for a printed release is a solid color. Due to this and its elegant design, it is a favored accessory. The pretty pearl details complement many pieces, and the branded brooch gives a touch of brand flair to your coordinate.

The Socks

Lastly, the printed socks. The repeated style of the bodice is featured in this design. Since the OTKS are polyester instead of cotton, I’m confident these will be more size inclusive. I’d like to coordinate these with a solid main piece so I can wear them more often.

How do you feel about this re-release? Are there other Angelic Pretty releases you would like to see? I’d love to read your comments!

Stay Frilly,
Callista
