7-Day Lolita Fashion Challenge

I recently accepted the 7-Day Lolita Fashion Challenge! I had wanted to do the challenge earlier in the year. As 2019 was ending, I thought this would be the perfect way to end the year. The challenge requires you to wear lolita fashion for seven days in a row. My fashion streak was two days, so this challenge would test my creativity and endurance. I can't wait to share my experience!

Make A Checklist

A coordinate checklist is always a great tool. This method came especially handy when planning my outfits for the week! I didn't have time to order a list, so I made one! You can feel free to use it, too! The checklist is printable so you can start planning right away.

Coordinate Convenience

For this challenge chose one bag and one set of shoes. Both my Bubble Heart Bag and Shiny Unicorn Queen shoes match my lolita wardrobe! By choosing one bag and one set of comfy shoes and snow boots I saved time and an early morning headache.

Day One

For the first day of my challenge, I chose my most recent closet addition Magic Princess! This coordinate got a lot of attention, particularly from little girls. One little girl asked her dad if I was "a fairy Godmother" and another that chased after me through the store. Too cute!

Day Two

It was another day of shopping for holiday goodies! I was excited to wear my adorable bear dress. A petticoat ended up working in my favor as I made my way through the crowd. People seemed to like the colorful print. When I saw this KitKat© - I had to pose with it!

Day Three

For my first day of wearing lolita fashion at work, I chose my Lace-Up dress. This dress is perfect for a more classic sweet coordinate. Apparently, it was an office favorite! This outfit was cute and comfortable! I was glad that I made a good coord choice for a full workday.

Day Four

For Christmas Eve I wanted a toy-themed outfit and Welcome To My Dollhouse was a perfect pick! I felt very elegant in this coord, though the headpiece seemed to draw some double-takes. The bonnet, while stunning, always slips off my head. I "lost" it in the grocery store only to have an employee point out it was tied around my neck! I am so happy it was not really gone.

Cape, Socks, and Hair Clip - Baby, the Stars Shine Bright

Day Five

We spent Christmas with my wife's family! I thought Sweet Cherry Deer, with its colorful animals, would be a great selection for the holiday. My wife's family has seen my alternative fashion in the past so I could relax.

Day Six

On day six I chose my Kuma Kumya Marine Island skirt! It was a great and comfortable choice for the day after a busy holiday. This skirt was the office favorite! I thought people would be confused about a bear and bunny mascot in the sea, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Day Seven

The tickle in my throat developed into a nasty cold overnight. I didn't feel up to wearing lolita but I was determined to finish the challenge! Since it was the last day of the challenge, I left my coordinate plans open. I chose my darling Melty Cream Doughnut dress. My Angelic Pretty pieces ended up being the public's favorites!

Final Thoughts

I am happy that I completed this challenge! It's a huge accomplishment. Not only did I get a chance to wear the fashion I love, but I also learned that I could do it!

The first two days were easier than the last. The fashion is beautiful, but it can be difficult to wear multiple days in a row. This is especially true if you are feeling under-the-weather. If I had gotten sick earlier in the week, I may have failed it.

This challenge taught me a lot! I learned that I can wear lolita and apply makeup in an extra 15 minutes a day, that's it! I can wear the fashion for long periods of time. Playing to my tools, like coordinate planning, really do make a huge difference!

Have you done this challenge? Would you be interested in doing the challenge? I'd love to know!

Stay Frilly~
