A Perfectly Delicious Tea Party

I recently attended a local anime and gaming convention known as PortCon. This Portland, Maine based convention is one of my favorite geek events to visit. I have attended this convention for many years, but there were some exciting new events at this convention that I am very excited to share!

This convention was a bit different than in the past. This year was the first time that I have worn lolita fashion each day that I attended the convention! I was very fortunate that the weather was favorable to my multiple layers. We have never had such lovely weather at this time of year!

Thursday

Dress: Letters To My Dear Lolita by Precious Clove
Main Event: Lolita Tea Party

Thursday is an exclusive event day for attendees. Due to this, it was much easier to pose for photos, meeting new people and take my own photos of the amazing costumes that I saw. It was a lovely opportunity to connect with the attendees at the convention. For my coordinate, I was excited to wear my jumperkskirt piece by Precious Clove. The Classic Sweet style of the dress was elegant enough for the main event but comfortable enough to wear to events prior to the tea party.

The Main Event

The Lolita tea party was phenomenal! The presentation, menu, and atmosphere were absolutely charming and well beyond my expectations. The hosts of the event were very attentive and dressed to impress. Each attendee received a raffle ticket upon arrival for tea party prizes. We each had our own individual porcelain teacup, and a selection of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.  The menu selection for eatables was very impressive and catered to allergies, such as gluten and dairy. I was thrilled I could enjoy the dairy and gluten free a scone, a cucumber sandwich, and meringue cookie.

Due to the steady flow of attendees, we were able to sit at one long rectangular table. This allowed for conversation with the other lolitas at the event. It was wonderful to make some new connections!

After our meal, we took photos at the posing station. I love the photo that my friend and I took together, and the instant photo was a great little souvenir. This was the best tea party that I have ever attended. I look forward to going to next year's.

Stay Frilly~
