How To Love Lolita During the Coronavirus Pandemic

With people domestic and abroad falling ill to COVI-19, the news is overwhelming. Americans are advised to practice social distancing. Angelic Pretty and Baby, the Stars Shine Bright in San Francisco have temporarily closed their doors. Lolita communities have canceled live events for now. With so much uncertainty, here are my tips on how to love lolita fashion during the coronavirus pandemic!

  1. Wear the Fashion

With school cancellations, temporary store closings, and employers encouraging their staff to work from home, you may find that this is a great chance to wear lolita fashion! With my nonexistent work commute, I have time to dolly myself up in the morning and a chance to wear my frills. This is a trying time for everyone, and it is important to take care of your physical and mental health. Feeling pretty may help to brighten your day! Use this time to experiment with potential coordinates or wear your favorite dress. Have fun with fashion!

2. Connect with Others

Just because you can't see your lolita community in person doesn't mean you have to be alone. Connect with your local lolita and J-fashion groups online! This is the perfect time to connect and plan future meet-up ideas or share coordinate photos. Don't have a local comm? No problem! There are many groups you can join online. I love being a part of the Maine Lolita and J-Fashion Community and Lolita Amino. It's nice to learn about the members of my local group and make new friends!

3. Go on the Hunt

If you need a fun activity, go on the hunt! Are there some special pieces that you have wanted to add to your closet? What about some designs by your favorite indie artists? While you may not plan on making any purchases, it doesn't mean that you can't make plans for the future! I personally have been padding my lolita wish list with all of the items I would like to buy in the future. New pieces mean new coords! Want to lend your talents? There are tons of Lolitas that would love your help! Lolita Amino even has a chat for this very subject, who knew?

What are your tips on loving lolita during a crisis? I'd love to read your responses!

Stay Frilly~
