Happy New Year! 2021 Recap and 2022 Lolita Wishes

Welcome, 2022! It feels as if the past year just begun, but here we are with a new year ahead of us.
Before I share my wishes for this year, I want to share some highlights of my 2021.

2021

I Obtained Some Dream Pieces!

I was determined to add a few dream items to my wardrobe in 2021. Specifically, I wanted to add My Sweet Mate Kumya's BABY Anniversary Lillian Skirt by Baby, the Stars Shine Bright and Sugary Carnival by Angelic Pretty, and I did! I now own the skirt in yellow and the dress in sax blue. While my dress is to be altered I've had a lot of fun coordinating my new skirt with my wardrobe. The fact that this piece celebrates Baby's 30th anniversary makes the skirt even more special to me <3

I tried some new things!

I've wanted a chocolate release for quite some time, but getting the desired result took longer than I guessed. After much trial and error, the first part of my Chocolate Series is something I am very proud of! I'm excited to release more.

I have, slowly, been taking online courses for illustration. Currently, I am working on character design. In the future, I would like to design some pins, art prints, and more to my Etsy shop!

Apply to More Conventions

While many of the slots went to 2020 artists, I applied and was accepted to a few conventions! The majority of the gatherings were online, but I sold in person at a con in December called Nor'Geekster. My friend April and I had a great time meeting new people, catch-up with others, and spending time together! I really loved how my display turned out for this event. I have so many fun ideas for my future artist alley displays and products!

2022 Lolita Wishes

Upgrade My Studio

There may be some fun developments at our apartment, which would allow for some repairs and more freedom to decorate. My "studio" is a spare bedroom. Our cats aren't allowed in this room since my ball-jointed dolls, Sailor Moon collectibles, and film and photography are stored there. Due to this, I can go as over the top as I'd like! Moving forward, the upgraded studio space will make my videos and coordinate photos even more enjoyable. I plan to upgrade my equipment, too!

Buy Some Dream Pieces

As I get ready to send Sugary Carnival out to be altered, I can't help but be excited to add more dream pieces to my wardrobe! While alterations are $150 for a dress, there are some prints that I would love the opportunity to own and wear. Probably in the spring, I'll prioritize getting Dolly Cat by Angelic Pretty. While I love this print in black, getting the pink colorway would be ideal!

I plan to be more discerning as I continue to add to my lolita collection, but we'll see how I do!

Release A Wardrobe Video/Post

Oh yes, you've read me correctly. I hope to complete a wardrobe video and post! My closet has grown over the past year and there are many pieces that you may have seen only once on social media. I plan to make the video upbeat and fun, even if I have to shoot it in different sections.

What are some of your lolita highlights of 2021? What are you looking forward to in 2022? I'd love to know!

Stay Frilly~
